The lessons required to receive
your add-on rating are:
Lesson 1: Systems, Water and
Seaplane characteristics, Seaplane Bases, Maritime rules, and aids to Marine
Navigation
Lesson 2: Preflight inspection,
taxiing and sailing, Before takeoff check
Lesson 3: Normal takeoffs and
landings, approach and departure stalls, steep turns
Lesson 4: Normal takeoffs and
landings, confined area takeoffs and landings,
crosswind
takeoffs and landings
Lesson 5: Emergency procedures,
rough water takeoffs and landings, preparation for
the
checkride.
Lesson 6: Docking and mooring,
ramping and beaching, anchoring
Most pilots acquire their
seaplane rating in 5-7 hours.

Total Costs $1295.00
An additional charge of
$180/hr may be incurred if additional lessons are required to obtain an
endorsement for the checkride. There is no required written exam for an add-on
rating. The same cost applies if you have either a Private of Commercial pilot
certificate.
WITH THIS RATING YOU WILL RECEIVE A BFR, COMPLEX, AND HIGH
PERFORMANCE ENDORSEMENTS IF YOU DO NOT ALREADY HAVE THEM.
