The lessons required to receive your signoff are:

Lesson 1: Aerodynamics, preflight, taxiing, normal takeoff, slow flight,  stalls, and 3 pt.   landings.                                                                                               

Lesson 2: Review Lesson 1, short and soft field landings, 3-pt landings, go-arounds

Lesson 3: 3-pt landings, go arounds, wheel landings, and emergency procedures

Lesson 4: Wheel landings, crosswind landings, slips to a landing, go-arounds

Lesson 5: 3-pt landings, wheel landings, crosswind landings, go-arounds

Lessons 6-10: Practice until instructor is confident in student’s ability to fly solo safely.

Most pilots acquire their tailwheel signoff in approximately 5-10 hrs of dual instruction.

You can save money by putting down a $1000.00 deposit on account and keeping a minimum balance of $250.00

There is no restriction on flying off of charted public grass fields. In fact you can expect to do a LOT of flying off of grass airports during your first lessons while practicing landings. Our insurance requires 10 hrs in type to be able to fly solo. If you have flown Citabrias before that time counts towards a rental checkout in our aircraft.
